July 29, 2010 West Precinct detectives have obtained three aggravated assault warrants against Timothy Jutodd Batey for the gunfire in Edgehill Homes late last night that injured three persons. Batey, 18, who is last known to have lived at 2400 Buena Vista Pike, is considered to be armed and dangerous. Officers are continuing to search for him. Garcia Frazier, 25, came to the 1300 block of 12th Avenue South to visit a friend and was talking on his cell phone at 10:30 p.m. when he spotted a man with a gun in his waistband. Frazier referenced the gunman in his phone conversation. Batey heard the conversation and appeared to reach for a gun, prompting Frazier to begin running. Frazier was shot in the leg. Also hit were Latricia Fletcher, 18 (graze wound to her leg), and her 22-month-old niece, Blessing (wound to her foot). Latricia was holding Blessing at the time of the gunfire. Frazier was admitted to Vanderbilt in stable condition. Blessing Fletcher was admitted to Vanderbilt Children?s Hospital in stable condition. Latricia Fletcher was treated and released. Witness information led to the identification of Batey as the suspected shooter. Batey is also wanted on aggravated assault and domestic assault charges resulting from a physical dispute with his ex-girlfriend on July 12th. |
